SOLAR SKIN
— Our approach with the Solar Power plant was to establish parameters on our views and implementation of large equipment buildings and how they can be experienced. These industrial structures with large roof lines, provide an opportunity for aesthetic amplification, while pragmatically establishing sustainability and self efficiency. In collaboration with [ LIPS ] The 187 panel façade is strategically placed on the south facing exterior, to act as a second skin for solar production for the building and its day-to-day operations. Re-imagining industrial structures can set a new dialogue for sustainability and power all while honoring there surrounding environments. The solar panels are low-profile and durable — quietly converting sunlight to energy for the farms expansive fields. Integrated hardware and simple design aesthetic secure the panels close to the equipment buildings roof for a minimalist aesthetic.
